Black and White Baby Shower

A baby shower with a black and white theme. I wanted a small splash of color and since the baby's gender is unknown, I went with yellow.

The baby bump is a half ball pan cake and the ta-tas are cupcakes.

I used a mat to texture the fondant dress. Quilted sides with buttercream flower accents.

They were very happy with the cake.

Congratulations on your new addition!

Chocolate Overload!

This is a YUMMY chocolate experience!!!

Triple chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing, topped with chocolate ganache and sides covered in chocolate chips!

Dad's Golf Bag Birthday

What's more fun than having your cake and eating it????
Having your favorite sport in cake and eating it!

Lady Shark Luau

The Lady Sharks were having their softball celebration with a luau theme and called for a cake...

This is what I came up with!

Top view...I copied their name logo in black icing and created fondant softballs.
I'm not a dentist....but this shark needs some work!!!

I added buttercream lei's and chocolate hibiscus flowers and adorned the sides with buttercream bubbles.
The shark is molded from rice krispie treats and covered in fondant. Her fin is made with fondant and modeling chocolate so it would hold it's shape.

Way to go Sharks!

Lime in the Coconut Tropical 35th

This is the yummy "Lime in the Coconut" cake with coconut cream cheese icing.
A delicious coconut cake with a lime and coconut glaze all slathered with coconut cream cheese icing. Since it's birthday cake....the calories don't count!!!

For a 35th birthday celebration.
They wanted a tropical theme to include the birthday girls' favorite colors:
turquoise and coral hibiscus flowers

I made a "lei" of flowers around the top tier.

Then added palm trees and pink flamingos on the bottom tier.
Happy 35th Birthday Sonya and Sheila!

I've Got a Golden Ticket!

Gabe's 5th birthday is a Wonka~rific celebration.

He really wanted to have a golden ticket!

So I made him a giant Wonka bar with the wrapper torn back to reveal his birthday Golden Ticket.

Here is the "nutritional information" on the wrapper.

And here is the other side with "Net Weight" for the birthday boy's age.
This is the feedback I received from Gabe's Mom:
"Thank you for everything. The cake was a great hit (as always). It was delicious. The little bit of chocolate icing made it even better than usual. I had a lot of parents ask about you so I hope you get some extra business from it.
Thank you again for making Gabe's Birthday special.
J."

This was a totally fun party theme! Happy 5th birthday Gabe!

Olivia's Favorite Things

Olivia is turning 12 and she has MANY things she is interested in. So her mom wanted to include all her favorite things in a tropical theme.
Favorite colors: Teal, Orange, Purple and Yellow
She likes playing Phase 10...and her mom said she was getting a cell phone!

She likes the Hollister brand clothing line.

She likes watching Glee on television.

She likes cheerleading!

Wrap it all up with tropical hibiscus flowers in her favorite colors....and you get a colorful, meaningful birthday cake!

Happy 12th Birthday Olivia!

70th Beach Birthday

For Pat's 70th Birthday, it was an all girl weekend at Tybee Island.
Her 70th "Beach"day celebration.
To commemorate we needed the Tybee Island Lighthouse.

Some palm trees, some beach sand with waves and of course a tropical drink!

Happy Birthday Pat and many, many more to come!

Baseball Team Cookies

These cookies were for a team celebration.

Every player had his name and number, even the coaches were included!
Hope your season is great!

Zebra Gift

I've done a zebra gift before. But practice makes "perfect".

Some of the changes I made. I used fondant to cover the "lid" cake. I mainly use buttercream, because that's what people want, but to get the smoothest finish....fondant did the trick. I also did a more traditional loopy bow with corkscrew ribbons.

This is far from perfect, but I think this one is moving in the right direction.

Also the feedback I received was wonderful. I love it when someone takes the time to make a call letting me know how much they enjoyed the cake. I think this was a great "gift"!

Art Cupcakes

What kind of cake should you have when your party is at a "paint your own pottery" shop?

The party was at this great local shop, Makin' Memories. If you haven't visited one of these pottery shops near you, you should. Each party goer gets to pick out the piece they like, and the paint colors they want and then they go to town and get creative!

Definitely had to use the birthday girl's color requests....pink and purple icing.

But what about some cute little edible art palettes to add some creative pizazz??

(I really had fun making these, I even dipped the paintbrushes into the chocolate paints!)

Hope it was a fun Arty Party!
