Pink Polka Dots

Hot pink and black are all the rage right now in the tween/teen girl world!

Seems I get many requests to use this color combination.

I was given only that request.  Must include hot pink and black.

So I guess I felt in a polka dot mood!

Iced in buttercream with fondant accents!
Happy Birthday Madison!

Olivia the Pig

Olivia the Pig.

Olivia the Birthday Girl.

Seems like a perfect birthday party theme!

I can't say that I've ever read an Olivia book...(I have boys), and I know I've never watched the new show.... (again I have boys AND they're "too old for those BABY shows MOM!")

I do know what she looks like from book jackets.

So cake has to include pinks, reds, and black.  Of course you can't forget Olivia herself!  And the sweet red bows she wears?  Of course!  Polka dots?  Certainly!

This cake is completely inspired by chocmocakes (she's my cake IDOL!)

Happy birthday Olivia!

50th Golden Anniversaries

I feel blessed to be a part of such special celebrations.

Celebrations of 50 years of marriage seem so rare and amazing to me.  I am honored to be asked to create the cake!

Here are a few that I've done in the last few months.

This 4 tier anniversary cake is actually the only "wedding" cake they've had.
They did not have a cake at their wedding 50 years ago.
Iced in buttercream with fondant and chocolate accents.  The bottom tier is a damask pattern, second tier is a quilted pattern with gold dragees, third tier has a design to match the invitation for the party and the top tier has a ribbed pattern with chocolate wishes for a "Happy Anniversary".

No specific design requested.  I wanted to try the drop string drape look with handpainted golden 50's.

Monograms are a must when it comes to anniversaries!
The topper and monogram are made from chocolate and painted with gold lustre dust.

How special to share so many years with the one you love!
Congrats!
