Black and White Wedding

What a classy wedding color scheme ~ Black, White and a splash of Red ~ This three tiered cake is simply elegant.
Black silk ribbon around the base of each tier, a white on white scroll pattern above that and handmade red fondant roses.

The groom's cake is designed after the grooms truck.
A custom made Chevy "drag/low rider".

You might wonder what is coming out from under the back of truck.....?

Apparently when these trucks are racing they are so low to the ground that sparks shoot up where it meets the asphalt. I made the "sparks" from hard candy that I heated up and "pulled" to make fun shapes.
(They might look more like flames....but give me the benefit of the doubt please!)

My version of a new vanity plate for the groom!
JUST MARRIED!
(It even has the Georgia peach in the background!)

Congratulations Britt and Kev!

High Flyin' Thirty!

Soaring OVER the hill for your 30th!
(Hee~Hee, I don't think 30 is anywhere NEAR the hill!)
This cake is for an Aerospace Engineer who pilots in his spare time. Happy 30th!

(The propeller actually spins!)

Here is a close up of the plane I hand molded out of gumpaste.
Gumpaste is similar to fondant in it's consistency and it works well when modeling cake art....it dries a LOT harder than fondant...so while it is "edible"~ I wouldn't eat it!

Sea Shell Wedding

Here is the wedding cake I did today. White Almond Sour Cream with Buttercream Icing. White Chocolate sea shells, hand painted with Marine Blue food dust and Super Pearl dust. Edible pearls for the "bubble" effect. Even the "sand" is edible (Nilla Wafers!)
A lovely young couple starting their lives together on Tybee Island GA.
Beautiful weather and a great setting.
Congratulations Crystal and Garrett!

My Favorite Puppy

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails......These cupcakes and coordinating smash cake were inspired by the above "My Favorite Puppy" nursery theme. The puppies are hand drawn chocolate transfers.
You can think of them as edible cake "picks".

(my favorite parts....the bone borders and of course all the pawprints!)

The birthday boy gets his own coordinating cake to "smash" all he wants!

Happy Birthday Mason!

This is the "Tail End" of Easter Treats

Look at this and tell me what you see...... Well it's a bunny jumping down into his hole because you scared him! He saw you reaching for a yummy cupcake and he is trying to get to safety! Quick! Jump bunny, jump!

Another fun and cute Hello, Cupcake! design.

My oldest son took these to his Easter party today. Tomorrow is Good Friday and the kids begin their spring break.

I'm wishing you all a very Happy Easter ~ Rejoice, for the Lord has Risen!

The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town Today

Here's hoping, he's hippety hopping your way..... These were for an Easter party at school. Man, these things multiply quickly!

What a SWEET garden!

Mary Mary quite contrary... how does your garden grow?

Do you like radishes?

Or maybe you are a pea person....

Of course a nice lettuce salad is always nice....

Make sure you mark the rows in your garden when you plant the seeds!

That way you'll know exactly what is growing!
This is my version of the Hello, Cupcake! "Garden Party" cupcake cake.

The boys are having Easter parties at school and my youngest son picked this out of the choices I gave him. I had done most of the standard Easter cupcakes, so I wanted to go for something different.

I love my Hello, Cupcake! book....it is inspiring to all levels of cakers. Most of the items they suggest using are easily accessible. So even if you don't know what "fondant" is and you think "gumpaste" is something you chew....you can still make all of the great designs they offer.

Easter Cookies

Happy Easter! These are some of the cookies I made for the boys to give to their teachers. I will wrap them separately and put them in a nice basket with some multi-colored paper grass.
Just a quick treat for the teachers for Easter.
Happy Easter everyone!

Cow-a-bunga Baby!

Cow-a-bunga Baby! I was so pleased to get a request for a baby shower with a cow theme. After the Rodeo Round-up, I was really in the mood to work some more with the cow patterns.

Isn't he cute?

The cow is modeled from fondant.

Nautical First Birthday

Ahoy there! For a First Birthday nautical themed party. The birthday boy gets his own smash cake to enjoy his first taste of cake.

Chocolate Gift

Yummy! How fun to receive a "present" you can eat! This is a triple chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing. The fondant bow and ribbon are embossed to give them texture.
Happy Birthday DeAnna!
