Birds of a Feather, Party Together!

I just love this invitation design!

It works well for any gathering, when people are "flocking" together to celebrate something special!

Of course, gathering to celebrate an expected bundle of joy arrival has to be one of the best reasons for a party!

Colors for this baby shower were a little different than the invitation.

Using pinks and greys.

Cookie favors that were shared at the party!

Baptism

This cake is inspired by a Pink Cake Box cake.

The client found a picture online and asked me to make one similar with a different color scheme (for a girl).

The cross is made from chocolate and brushed with pearl dust to make is shine

Iced in buttercream with a fondant bow and ribbon at base.

God Bless Baby!

Baby Boy Shower

I will tell you that some of the best inspiration can come from the party invitation or decorations.

So imagine how many things came to mind when I saw this invite for the baby shower!

Ooooo! Polka dots, stripes, stars, x's......so many colors, so many choices!

So the hostess decided which designs she liked best and which layer should be which.

And here is the final product.  I know it looked great on the table at the shower!

A chocolate fondant bow on top for the brown background on the invite.
Stars in multi-colors.
Blue and red stripes.

Such a fun cake to create!

Baby Gender Reveal Cake

Finding out what gender your new baby will be is always an exciting part of becoming a parent.

New ways to announce what your baby will be to your friends and family is also a very fun experience.

Jana heard a story about having a party and revealing the gender of the baby to everyone.  She said she wanted gender neutral colors and a polka dot theme.  And since nobody knew the gender a big question mark to keep people guessing.  I decided to add the male and female symbols as an accent.
Sounds fun, right?!
Well heck yeah!
Because the only way you're finding out the baby's gender at Jana's party.....
is to cut open the cake!

Tinting the cake either pink or blue, so when the parents to be cut the cake everyone can SEE!

Jana sent me a picture of the cake once it was cut.  She said the party was a blast.
I love being a small part of such an important day for someone's family!
Congratulations on your baby BOY to be!

Black and White Baby Shower

A baby shower with a black and white theme. I wanted a small splash of color and since the baby's gender is unknown, I went with yellow.

The baby bump is a half ball pan cake and the ta-tas are cupcakes.

I used a mat to texture the fondant dress. Quilted sides with buttercream flower accents.

They were very happy with the cake.

Congratulations on your new addition!

Boy oh Boy!

Baby boy shower!

She gave me a couple of pictures of cakes she liked, so I took the elements that I wanted to work with and incorporated them.
Quilted sides with fondant buttons.
I just love the quilted look on a baby cake, since wrapping babies up in blankets is so sweet.
A cute little fondant baby. I have had this mold for over a year now, and was so glad to get the chance to use it!
Isn't he sweet???
The detail is really special.
His lips, little arm folds, his tiny toes....awwww.

His cute little bum.
I don't think anyone wants to eat the baby...but you could if you wanted.

Put it all together and you get this!

Baby Girl Shower

You might remember this baby shower theme. I did a cake for this theme last spring.
I received another request using this napkin/invitation as inspiration.... I think I would pick this too....something so sweet about the curly edges.
Pastel colors for a baby girl....make sure to include a pink bow!
I added the baby carriage that I made out of chocolate, because I wanted to pull the cookie favors into the cake design.....

I mean, just look at the cuteness!
I had so much fun with these. I love all the curly cues. And I made the bassinet legs sparkly with sanding sugar!
Awww, almost makes me want to have a baby girl....I said ALMOST.

Baby's First Zoo Safari

I know I've said it before....but first birthdays are just so much fun! So many cute party themes out there!
Walker's mommy is having a zoo safari theme for him. They call him monkey, so it really is a fitting theme!.

Here are some of the paper good designs that I used to inspire Walker's cake.
I love the stripes, the balloon and of course the cute little animals.
So we had to have the monkey front and center!
And here is Walker's smash cake to have all to himself!I really loved the lettering and colors used on the napkins, so I copied that for the writing on the cake!

Here is the elephant.
And of course the lion.
I can't wait to hear how the party went!
Happy, happy 1st Birthday Walker!

Pink and Brown Baby Shower

I was asked to make a baby shower cake.
The baby's nursery will be done in pink and brown so we decided that would be a good color pallette for the cake as well.
Other than the colors, I was given artistic license to design what I wanted. :o)
Babies make me think of blankets and quilts so I gave the sides a quilted pattern and embellished them with little edible pearls.
(They are a miniature version of jaw breakers, so watch your teeth!)
Here is the top view of the cake. I just love the brown fondant flowers with pink centers. I made a pink and brown fondant plaque for the center of the cake and added a couple flowers.
I just love baby showers.
Best wishes to the family and the soon to be new addition!

Cow-a-bunga Baby!

Cow-a-bunga Baby! I was so pleased to get a request for a baby shower with a cow theme. After the Rodeo Round-up, I was really in the mood to work some more with the cow patterns.

Isn't he cute?

The cow is modeled from fondant.

Baby Time!

So cute, baby so cute!
These are the napkins being used at the baby shower. So cute, great colors, too much fun!

Here is Cake Believe's interpretation of this shower theme.
I love pretty polka dots and the baby is just too cute. The hostess asked for polka dots and stripes and showed me the napkin design, then she let me work out the final design.

Cute little fingers and toes, this baby even has a belly button!
I had fun modeling this little person out of fondant - I think he's a boy, but we're not sure yet!

Pastel Baby Shower

Image of baby shower napkin.
I had a request for a baby shower cake to match the paper napkins. Pastel polka dots with a cute little baby bassinet. I found some great scrapbook paper for the cakeboard and matching ribbon for the edge of the board.

Pastel buttercream polka dots and a hand drawn multi color chocolate transfer to copy the napkins.
